Your icon is so apropos, since the only modern Persuasion adaptation I know of is Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason (the original reason I was interested in Persuasion since I was obsessed with the Edge of Reason as a teenager). I've been told the 95 Persuasion movie is okay and the 07 is awful, but I haven't seen either.

Reading Emma made me really want, well a) a story where Emma is queer but also b) a new high school adaptation that keeps Jane and makes the Emma-Jane connection central to the story. Clueless meets Bring It On, by Jane Austen. AN INSTANT CLASSIC.

I also think that The Mindy Project is secretly kind of an Emma adaptation, because Emma is basically Mindy Kaling's ur-character, but that is neither here nor there.
